Title Case rule
The first word and the last word are capitalized. Other words stay lowercase when they match the converter’s short-word list: a; an; the; and; or; but; nor; for; yet; so; as; at; by; in; of; on; to; up; via. Every other word starts with a capital letter. The rule is mechanical. It will not know that a brand wants unusual capitals.
When this tool helps
Use the case converter when a heading arrived in all caps, or when a title needs a consistent Title Case pass before you publish it. Sentence case is useful when a paragraph was typed in lowercase and you want ordinary sentence starts. The result is still your words. Check names and acronyms after Title Case, because the short-word list does not treat “US” or a product name as special.

Why did “and” stay lowercase?
In Title Case, and is on the short-word list. It is capitalized only when it is the first or last word.
What does sentence case change?
The converter lowercases the text, then capitalizes the first letter of the string and the first letter after a period, question mark, or exclamation point.
